you for contacting Noir Montmartre Tours. Listed below are several
activities of our company's mini-tour: A
Taste of Paris Noir (established for travelers who have
already booked their hotel and airfare) ; which is based on the part
of Paris that most tourist over-look. We can also accommodate to
other areas of French culture that may interest you. There will be a
personal guide and translator to all of the listed activities. There
is a minimum of three events
per day. Tours are available daily; Time schedules are adjusted to
meet the individual's needs. After you make your selection, we can
calculated your rate and begin programming events.
1)
African - American Literary Soiree:
If you are
visiting or already living in the "City of Light," AAL
soirees, in the chic Parisian district of St. Germain des Pres, are
THE place to go to meet people and discover a NEW Paris.
2)
Restaurant:
Enjoy the
magnificent variety of cuisine’s found only in Paris. Aside from
the uniquely gallic dining experience found in the French brasserie;
sample cuisine’s like Antilles, African, Moroccan, Indian,
Brazilian, and even "Soul Food."

Jazz Club:
Experience
the Boites de Jazz reminiscent of those frequented by past Black
American musicians and entertainers.

Paradis Latin Cabaret Show:
A traditional
Parisian Cabaret with a African-American Star; meet Ursuline the
Diva herself.

Le Chat Noir:
The
illustrious black cat club offers dynamic weekly performances of
"360 degrees of Black Music" a.k.a. "Hoodoo
Music by the Hoodoo People" - Sulaiman Hakim (ex-saxophonist
of Luther Allison) and Chris Henderson (ex-drummer of Sun
Ra)

HAYNES (1949-1999)
- The Original Soul Food:
Come join the
50th anniversary celebration of a historical monument. Leroy Haynes,
an African-American, opened the first American restaurant in Paris;
and today we invite you to celebrate 50 years of history and
culture; while dining on down home "Soul Food."

NMT presents - A Walking Tour through the Harlem of Paris -
La Goutte d'Or:
Many have asked
before their arrival,"Are there black people in France?"
"How do they live?" Colors, fragrances, markets, music,
inner city housing, and so much more. A guided tour through the "hood."

African Dance and Percussion:
Babacar Faye
and his orchestra (Art Ndiaxas), from Senegal, offer an exciting
mixture of rhythms through live concerts, and dance, and drum
classes. George Momboye, from La Cote D'Ivoire, has created Parisian
history by establishing the first African Art Center designed,
owned, and run by a person of color. Rejoice with him through daily
classes in dance and drum.

Black Art:
Meet and
visit the current Paris exposition of world renowned
African-American artist Ealy
Mays. Mays' expositions include The New York Guggenheim and
Metropolitan Museum of Modern Art. In the year 2000 he is scheduled
at Ashanti Glover's (actor Danny Glover's wife) Bomani Gallery in
California. Catch him before he leaves the "City of
Lights." Several exhibitions are available featuring a variety
of artists from diverse countries. The African Museum is open daily.

Xuly
Bet; These modern Parisian designs have captivated artist like
Janet Jackson and Lauryn Hill. Paris is the only place to meet its
mega-successful designer, Lamine Kouyate; Did you know that this
famous stylist is African? Shop and visit his personal studio. Meet
up and coming young black designers in the Halls of Chatelet.

Hair and Beauty:
African
American sista, Jenneine Wilson, is the owner of USA
Health & Beauty; right in the heart of Paris. AFrench West Indian sista is the owner of a fabulous beauty
center on the internationally acclaimed Champs
Elysees. The two shop establishment includes a full service hair
salon on one side and a beauty center (facial, body wax, nails,
etc..) on the other; all designed for people of color.

"Sisters":
Introduction
to an association of Black American women in Paris.
"Sisters" provides social and professional networking
opportunities, lifestyle and cultural information relative to
residence in France and activities celebrating traditional American
and African-American holidays.

Night life:
Experience the
glittering ambiance of Parisian nightclubs. Party to the rhythmical
vibrations of tradition African club music from a variety of
countries; Zouk Love from the Antilles; North African "Rai"
club music; the Cuban sounds of "son" and salsa;
Euro-House Music, Reggae, and more.

Gospel Sunday Brunch:
Meet
African-American performers who are spreading the word throughout
Europe in song. This uplifting and enlightening experience is
accompanied by a hearty American brunch.

Young Black Writers:
James
Baldwin; Chester Himes; Langston Hughes; Richard Wright; and the
legend continues... Meet with young black writers who have made
Paris their home and inspiration. Recently, talented artist Jake
Lamar 's new novel, "Close
to the Bone," has sold over 15, 000 copies in the United
States. An African-American, and member of the Paris community,
makes book signings and conversations in chic cafes an exciting
opportunity.

Seine Boat Party:
Live music and
dance on beautiful boats that align the romantic river Seine;
Enjoy a wonderful fairytale evening; Reggae, African, salsa, Jazz,
and more.

ONE ON ONE with AFRICAN TRADITION:
Meet with a
traditional West African GRIOT (Story Teller - historian); and or
travel through spiritualism and the world of African clairvoyance
with a respected MARABOUT (traditional psychic).
