Noir Montmartre Tours is dedicated to working with youth. With the help of sponsors and grants for international educational tours, NMT hopes to show young people that travel is the best education that life can prepare for them.

Progressing towards a new millennium, the youth of the year 2000 must be prepared for our evolving global village. A multicultural education, as well as a world wide perspective is imperative. Those unable to view the world beyond their own backyard will truly be lost in "cyberspace."

In the 1940's, jazz diva, Billie Holiday, sang "God bless the child that's got his own". The international Child was created so that the child "without his own" could be exposed to what was once considered a luxury. NMT emphasizes that educational travel is a necessity. Electra Weston, founder and president, of NMT and its program The International Child says, "After college, travel was the best education that life could prepare for me. My goal is to help today's youth have the same opportunities." A Spelman college alumni, Electra Weston is dedicated to creating a forum for more internationally minded children.

Grants and sponsors of The International Child are focused on youth from low-income households; who have a love of learning and an interest in travel. The initial focus of ICP is tri-continental; An exchange of thoughts and interests of youth from Africa, Europe, and the United States. ICP's mission is to brake down today's racial barriers. ICP asks its youth to return its energy to that of a child. Children do not discriminate; society teaches them negative stereotypes; to hate; and to segregate. ICP teaches them to return to the mind of a child; and learn about other human beings before judging them.
